Hi, I’m a freelance actor, voice-over artist, and copywriter based in Amsterdam. With a degree in Performing Arts, I am as creative as I am versatile. I help tell stories that stick — from the first draft to the final result. Written, performed, presented, recorded, or sung from the rooftops with (utterly unnecessary but wonderfully entertaining) choreography.
I’m British but have always lived internationally. If I’m not writing or acting, you can find me flying in an aerial hoop or making Tiny Theatre.
A professional actor with over a decade of experience in film, TV, theatre, presenting, commercials and voice-overs. A strong physical performer with a background in gymnastics, yoga, and aerial (circus) and stunt/action training. Believable and empathetic with strong comedic timing. A native (RP) English speaker who works comfortably in American and other dialects. Experienced and adept at working on Dutch-speaking and multi-lingual sets.
Credits include playing Suzy in Videoland’s series Sleepers, Deirdre in the international Nollywood movies The Wedding Party 1 & 2, Sam in Mum, Dad, Meet Sam, and Ellie in The Conversations, and playing femme fetale Martine Burden in Vertigo Studio’s VR game, The 7th Guest. There are also plenty of shorts, brand films, commercials, and E-learning videos.
Theatre credits include playing all the females (Annabella/Margaret/Pamela) in the 1930s spy comedy, The 39 Steps, Vicki in Noises Off, multiple characters in A Christmas Carol with Orange Theatre Company, Elizabeth Bennet in a Hong Kong production of Pride and Prejudice, and Polly Brown in The Boyfriend (Hong Kong). UK Touring shows include Lady Havisham in Havisham, a devised play I co-wrote, and West Side Story with Full-Tilt Theatre.

“A stand out performance from Daniella Down, who is as important as the olive in a martini, as she shakes up each scene much to the audience’s delight.”
— Arts Talk Magazine, 2021
“Daniella Down is the Queen of Comedy come to life. Her physical comedy is continuous, and she brings a dry wittiness to her character.”
— Broadway World, 2021
“For Down — the actor, writer and energetic circus trainer — working in Nollywood made her realise that this was her opportunity to use her voice, to make people take notice of stories that cross cultural boundaries.”
